Well, this is awkward. I can usually write until the cows come home (and then write about the cows). But there’s something inherently challenging about writing promo pieces for yourself. So here it goes…

My name is Ashley Ray. I’m a writer, designer & digital marketer from Southern California. I’m passionate about a lot of things. Like, A LOT of things. Pick a random movie from any time in history - there’s a good chance I’ve seen it and have some thoughts. I devour pop culture and politics in equal measure and love nothing quite so well as a space comedy. What’s a space comedy, you might ask? Think Firefly, Galaxy Quest, Avenue 5, and The Orville and you’ve entered my happy place. Oh, and I LOVE marketing. Really. I love it.

Marketing combines a magical blend of data, human behavior, and wild creativity that you just can’t find in any other discipline. In the last 10 years, technological advancements have also made digital marketing online wizardry, and I’m here for every second of it.

Working in marketing also lets me flex one of my favorite muscles: problem-solving. The majority of marketing starts with a problem and delivers a solution. Sometimes that solution is the product. Sometimes the solution is the campaign itself. Whichever way the marketing cookie crumbles, I get to solve complex problems and deliver creative work…every day. I’m very grateful for that.
